Football Epilogue

 The last few months I've been working on my basement. The 1960s paneling and horridly worn and musty carpet had to go. I improved the lighting, reinsulated, hung drywall and installed vinyl plank flooring. The space feels much more open and useful. I'm now getting set back up down there.  Yes, I'm still part teenager. I moved my murder of electric guitars (I think a group of guitars should also be called a "murder" just as with crows; counting, black or otherwise) back to the basement from my room and have set up a drum kit I bought shortly post-divorce. In the interest of being thrifty, I added a free couch and chair.  I like neither the couch nor chair and have already relocated the chair to college housing. I even delivered it for the kid. The one thing the stay-at-home order for Covid-19 along with having a bit of time off to use (use it or lose it) is I have made quite a bit of progress on my basement remodel. Yesterday's accomplishment was getting one part of the new recessed lighting installed.  I used three Ostwin 6" LED lights to replace one very old ceiling sconce. This might be the first time that far corner has gotten adequate light. I was initially thinking this was an overkill amount of lighting, but now I think it works to give the area a much bigger feel. Additionally, I also put the lights on a three-way switch to allow operation from either end of the room.  There are two additional recessed lights I'm nearly done adding on a four-way switch to operate at the top and bottom of the stairs as well as at the walkout entry door. I have the remainder of the electrical in place and will be finishing up the drywall hanging. In hindsight, I really should have bought the big bucket of dry...

I'm in the midst of remodeling my basement. part of this is refreshing some of the electrical including moving a wall switch and installing some recessed lighting  using handy LED replacements. The wall switch is part of a four-way switch where the lights at the bottom of my stairs can be operated at the main entry, bottom of the stairs and at the lower back door (walk-out style basement). Multi-way switches can be a little tricky to figure out. There are different ways you can wire depending on where the power comes in relative to the lights.
